Online lessons are the wave of the future, and Jeff has had the privilege of teaching singers around the world via Skype, FaceTime and Zoom for many years.

You don't have to live in New Jersey or New York to take an individualized voice lesson with Jeff. Using services such as Skype, Zoom or FaceTime you can take a virtual voice lesson with the same benefits of an in-person lesson. All you need is a broadband connection and a good microphone!

What to Expect

Before the initial lesson a lesson, Jeff will send a detailed questionnaire to determine your vocal goals and needs. You will also receive a PDF that will include vocal exercises that you will learn in the lesson.

During the lesson you will first be introduced to the concepts of the vocal technique, learn several exercises chosen specifically for your needs, and finally work on song repertory.

How to Prepare

The most important aspect of having a successful online lesson is finding a private space, free from distractions. Avoid common spaces in your home where family members or roommates convene. The ideal space is one in which you can sing as openly, freely, and loudly as you need, without concern.

It is also a good idea to silence notifications on all devices, especially the device you are using to make your online call.

Recording Your Lessons

If you'd like to record your online voice lesson, you should research the best method for recording an online call using the service of your choice. Zoom and FaceTime offer the easiest methods for recording.

For more information about how to prepare for voice lessons go to the What to Expect from Voice Lessons page.

Technical Considerations

Successful online lessons rely primarily on a strong broadband Internet connection. A weak connection may cause poor audio and video quality, which can delay the progress of the lesson.

Most recent computers, tablets, and phones have adequate hardware to support online calls. You may want to invest in a quality USB microphone to enhance your voice.

One limitation of online voice lessons is that the audio can sometimes fall out of sync, creating a slight delay between the piano and the singer. Therefore, song accompaniment can be challenging. For best results, have an instrumental track available to accompany the song you are working on with Jeff.

Lesson Fee

Payment is expected 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson. You will receive an email invoice via Square, payable through all major credit cards.
